Meanwhile, the report about Marky Cielo’s (inset) death landed the top spot. Nobody saw it coming. He was young and had a promising career ahead of him, but everything was cut short by his untimely demise. He died last December 7.

Kapuso princess Marian Rivera is the most in-demand topic this year, while Gretchen Barretto is a fascinating subject to the readers. According to the data generated by PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) from Google Analytics, any story about these two women could launch thousands of page views.
Even the most trivial stuff about the Dyesebel star, such as her fractured toe, was deemed a worthy read by the PEPsters. On the other hand, La Greta’s saga about her highly publicized yet unconfirmed affair with government official Dody Puno was closely chased by showbiz aficionados.
Rifts, breakups, deaths, network transfer-related issues, and oddity prove to be staples in the readers’ “Things to View” list.
The controversial tiffs of Claudine Barretto and Angel Locsin, Cristy and Nadia Montenegro, Sunshine Cruz and her sister-in-law Maria Mercedes “Ched” Manhilot-Cantu, and the “almost-physical” encounter between Richard Gutierrez and Aljur Abrenica, Bubble Paraiso and Jewel Mische, and two socialites Patricia Panlilio-Cu-unjieng and Neny Montinola attracted a lot of readers to the site.
Indeed, Pinoys love anything that has an element of drama. Even Kris Aquino’s “pa-star ka” comment on Charlene Gonzalez made it to the “Hot” issue list.

ABS-CBN’s Iisa Pa Lamang claimed the top spot in the Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) survey for the month of November, while Heart Evangelista’s GMA-7’s fantaserye debut series, Luna Mystika, clinched fourth place overall.

ABS-CBN’s primetime drama series Iisa Pa Lamang finally clinched the top spot a month after settling for fifth place, according to the latest Nationwide Urban TV Audience Measurement (NUTAM) survey conducted by AGB Nielsen Media Research, Philippines for the month of November.
It was major leap for the star-studded soap opera as it even surpassed perennial favorites and fellow Kapamilya programs Dyosa and I Love Betty La Fea in the primetime race. Iisa Pa Lamang gathered a rating of 33.6 percent followed by Dyosa’s 32.9 percent.
Heart Evangelista’s first primetime soap starrer as a Kapuso, Luna Mystika, immediately made an impression as it barged in to claim the fourth spot, beating Bea Alonzo’s Betty La Fea and Dennis Trillo’s Gagambino.
The local franchise of Pinoy Fear Factor, hosted by Ryan Agoncillo, also made it to the list at No. 10 to round up the primetime column.
Not much has changed in the daytime Top Weekday Programs battle as Willie Revillame’s Wowowee remained untouched at the top spot, bolstered by its 21.9 percent grade. GMA-7’s drama combination of Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan? and Una Kang Naging Akin changed positions, with the former now assuming second place with a 21.6 rating to show while the latter accumulated a total of 19.7 percent good enough for third place.
Boxing special once more flexed its muscle to bully the competition. The ring matchup between Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton and Paulie “The Magic Man” Malignaggi aired by ABS-CBN on November 23 knocked Willie Revillame’s Wowowee out of the daytime Top Weekend Programs apex. Garnering a strong 28.3 percent rating, the bout dubbed as The Hitman vs. The Magic Man beat Wowowee’s 21.2 percent showing and ASAP 08’s 18.2 mark.
Eat Bulaga! nailed fourth place, followed by Cinema FPJ: Da King on ABS-CBN. The Buzz edged out rival Showbiz Central, although the team of Pia Guanio, John Lapus, Raymond Gutierrez, Mo Twister, and Rufa Mae Quinto surely wouldn’t mind the setback as they fared better this time compared to the month of October when they failed to enter the winning bracket.
Maalaala Mo Kaya ruled the primetime race for the Top Weekend Programs, nipping Rated K’s effort to secure the top spot. The country’s longest-running drama anthology registered a rating of 28.6 percent while Korina’s program garnered 28.1 percent, closely followed by Komiks 27.6 percent rating. The primer of Ryan Agoncillo’s Fear Factor landed eight spot with 23.4 percent. Completing the list were two Kapuso shows—Kakasa Ka Ba Sa Grade 5? and Family Feud—which bore identical ratings of 22.2 percent.

Kagabi, November 11, ginanap ang grand launch ng pinakabagong fantaserye ng GMA-7, Luna Mystika. Ito ay pinagbibidahan ni Heart Evangelista, na gumaganap ng dalawang karakter bilang Luna at Celestina.
Ang Luna Mystika ang ikalawang primetime series ni Heart sa Kapuso network, pagkatapos ng magtatapos ngayong linggo na Codename: Asero nila ni Richard Gutierrez. Kaya naman excited si Heart na ang follow-up project niya sa GMA-7 ay title role na agad.
“Confident naman ako na napakaganda ng produktong ito, yung show. And of course, kasama ko pa si Mark [Anthony Fernandez], si Cyrus na talaga namang hot item siya ngayon. Hindi ako ganoon kinakabahan. Pero siyempre, nandoon yung first time ko rito sa GMA na ako mismo ang lead role,” pahayag ni Heart.
Ang Cyrus na tinutukoy ni Heart ay ang pangalan ng character ni Mark sa huling programa ng aktor, Ako Si Kim Samsoon.
Ang Luna Mystika rin ang unang pagsasama nina Heart at Mark. Ayon kay Heart, noong Lunes, November 10, pa lang daw kinunan ang unang eksena nilang magkasama.
Kuwento ni Heart, “Okey naman kami. Nagkukuwentuhan na kami ni Mark. Siyempre, may konting hiyaan pa rin. But then, you know, si Mark, napaka-gentleman at hindi siya yung nagte-take advantage ng babae. At alam mo yung gusto niya na ipakita mo if it’s okay with you na ganito. So, I feel more comfortable. “Wow naman!” bulalas ni Heart. “Wala namang nakapagsabi na pang-award… Never ko namang pinangarap yun dahil parang napakabigat niya, kaya thank you. Coming from Mark, na bata pa lang kami, napapanood ko na siya. Crush siya ng mga pinsan ko, tapos ngayon, nakakatrabaho ko na siya.
“Masaya talaga! I’m very flattered. Hindi ko alam kung ano ang sasabihin ko. Tuyung-tuyo na ang throat ko. I’m speechless! Noong makita ko yung billboard doon sa may GMA sa labas, parang hindi ko akalain na, wow, mangyayari pala ito sa akin! It only happens in dreams, e, you know, na makakabalik ako, na I can stand up again, yung ganoon. Parang movie lang, pero nangyari,” sunud-sunod na sabi ni Heart.
Hindi ba nahirapan si Heart sa pagganp ng dual character dito sa Luna Mystika?
“Yun nga, medyo naguluhan ako ng konti,” sabi niya. “Kakatapos lang namin ng taping ng Asero at dalawa agad ang character ko, so nag-ano ako… Before each take, halimbawa, magta-transform ako bilang Celestina, nagkukulong ako sa kotse, nagmu-music ako. Pati yung pabango ko, iniiba ko para feeling ko, ibang tao ako. Yun nga lang, medyo nagkaka-nightmares ako kasi medyo ini-invade ko siya.
“Pero nakaka-excite, especially kung ang kasama mo, ibang grupo naman—sina Mark, everybody here, sobrang focus nila sa trabaho. Talagang pinag-aaralan nila ang script. Sila Direk [Mike Tuviera], ine-explain nila sa ‘yo ang bawat eksena kaya kaming lahat, parang we’re in to what we are doing. Nakaka-inspire siya. Nakaka-excite!”
May kaba ba siyang nararamdaman dahil siya bale ang magdadala ng buong show nila?
“Actually, parang hindi ko ma-distinguish kung nasaan ang kaba. Kasi yung buong project na ‘to, kinakabahan ako. Not because hindi ako confident na magre-rate siya, pero yung mga loyal fans naman ng GMA, siguradong manonood ang mga ‘yan, parang susunod at susunod sila sa mga bagong shows. Pero more on, parang ibinigay sa akin, thank you. Yung ganoon,” saad ni Heart.
Pero lalo yatang kinabahan si Heart nang sabihin ni Ms. Wilma Galvante, SVP for Entertainment TV ng GMA-7, na ang expectation nila sa magiging rating ng Luna Mystika ay “40 percent.”
NEW LOVE FOUND. Pagdating naman sa lovelife ni Heart, masasabi ba niyang completely healed na siya pagkatapos ng nangyari sa kanila ng ex-boyfriend niyang si Jericho Rosales?
“You know, I’m at the highest point right now,” sabi ng dalaga. “Everything, all my stars are aligned when it comes to my family, my lovelife, my career, my health. Everything is aligned for the very first time in my life. Parang now, ‘Wow, I deserve that!’”
Dito na namin ipinasok kay Heart ang tanong kung totoong may boyfriend na siya ngayon. At hindi naman ito itinanggi ng aktres.
“Yes, I’m seeing someone now,” sagot ni Heart.
Are they exclusively dating?
“Well, ganoon kasi ako, e. Hindi naman ako yung kapag nagdi-date, marami akong dine-date. Isa lang ang idine-date ko and I’m really, really… Well, this one is really good for me.”
Hindi na rin itinanggi ni Heart na kasama niya ang kanyang boyfriend na nagngangalang Francisco Delgado nang magbakasyon sila kailan lang sa Boracay with her family. Si Francisco ay mula sa angkan ng mga Delgado na may shipping business. Anak siya ng pinaslang na businessman na si Federico “Rico” Delgado.
Pero hangga’t maaari ay ayaw ni Heart na pag-usapan ang negosyo ng kanyang bagong boyfriend.
“Well, it doesn’t matter to me. It’s not actually my business to talk about their business, but he’s very hardworking. What I like about him is he’s very low key and he’s not vulgar about anything, and I like that,” saad ni Heart.
Thirty-four years old na raw ang bagong boyfriend ni Heart, na 23 years old pa lamang. Pero wala raw problema sa dalaga kung malaki man ang age gap nila.
“Feeling ko, mas gusto ko,” sabi ni Heart. “Girls naman kasi mature faster than guy, at saka he knows what he wants. May goal siya sa buhay. And I’m like that. Ayoko no’ng parang ngayon lang, tapos hindi namin alam kung ano ang mangyayari. Natatakot ako sa mga ganoon.”
Boto ba ang parents niya kay Francisco?
“Well, actually, matagal na siyang kilala ng mom ko. Pero it’s not that boto siya ngayon. Pero right now, at this point, after that [relationship with Jericho], anything else will do. Anything else that will make me happy. Hindi naman sa ano, kundi yung maging masaya lang ako. Yun ang ibig kong sabihin,” paglilinaw niya.
Ayon pa kay Heart, this time, mas alam na niya ang dapat niyang i-prioritize.
“Alam mo, nagawa ko na ‘yan dati, ginive-up ko na ang lahat. Pero ngayon, naibigay na ulit sa akin [career opportunity], I will not make the same mistakes again. This is me, this is my heart. Uunahin ko naman yung akin,” deklara niya.
At Francisco’s age, masasabing nasa marrying age na ito. Napag-uusapan na ba nila ang kasal as early as now?
“Ang aga naman!” tawa ni Heart. “We’re only dating for four, five months, I think. Basta, happy naman ako ngayon.”
Is Heart in love?
“Yes, I think I am in love!” walang gatol niyang sabi. “Ano kasi ako ngayon, naniniguro muna ako ngayon. You think about anong klaseng love ba ito, pang-forever ba ito?”

TV Ratings (July 14): “Codename: Asero” and “Iisa Pa Lamang” open with a bang!

If two primetime series ended last Friday, July 11, two shows immediately replaced them last night, July 14: ABS-CBN’s Iisa Pa Lamang and GMA-7’s Codename: Asero.
Codename: Asero opened explosively when it posted a rating of 40.1 percent to grab the second place behind top-rater Dyesebel’s 40.5 percent. This Richard Gutierrez-Heart Evangelista starrer replaced Robin Padilla’s Joaquin Bordado.
Meanwhile, Iisa Pa Lamang—which boasts a powerhouse cast of dramatic stars led by Claudine Barretto, Diether Ocampo, and Gabby Concepcion—opened with a modest 24.3 percent to take the No. 7 spot. Iisa Pa Lamang was the replacement of the recently concluded Lobo of Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin.
24 Oras and Ako Si Kim Samsoon took the third and fourth spots.
ABS-CBN’s primetime newscast TV Patrol World became the highest-rated Kapamilya program when it placed sixth overall by virtue of its 25.9 percent rating.
Four other Kapamilya shows—The Singing Bee, My Girl, Pinoy Dream Academy, and Wheel of Fortune—occupied the rest of the Top 10.
Magdusa Ka was the leader in the daytime race with 24.2 percent; followed by Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan (22.7 percent), Daisy Siete (21.5 percent); Eat Bulaga! (20 percent), and Pilipinas, Game KNB? (19.1 percent) to complete the Top 5.
ABS-CBN’s special coverage of Miss Universe 2008, which was won by Miss Venezuela, ranked seventh with 16.7 percent.

Kahapon, May 4, sa musical variety show na SOP ay opisyal nang tinanggap ang young actress na si Heart Evangelista bilang pinakabagong Kapuso. Kahapon din nagsimula ang pagiging regular co-host ng young actress sa SOP.
Sa panayam ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) kay Heart sa Studio 3 ng GMA Network, sinabi niya na masaya at thankful siya sa naging pagtanggap sa kanya sa SOP.
“I’m very happy, sobrang happy!” bulalas ng young actress. “It’s my very first [time] in SOP. Okey naman yung launch sa akin, it was really good.”
Nang makita nga ng PEP si Heart, kapansin-pansin na bukod sa kanyang mommy at ilang entourage, ang madalas na kausap ni Heart ay si Raymond Gutierrez, na anak ng kanyang manager na si Annabelle Rama. Hindi naman ito nakakapagtaka lalo pa nga’t first time pa lang niyang makatuntong sa SOP.
Hindi naman itinanggi ni Heart na although she gets along well with the other SOP hosts, hindi raw maaalis na medyo naninibago at nangangapa pa rin siya.
“Naninibago siyempre, pero okey naman sila. They are very nice. At saka yung iba naman, dati ko pa namang kakilala, like si Raymond, si Jay-R, kakilala ko rin. Pero siyempre, since it’s my first, medyo nakakapanibago. Pero yun nga, they’re all nice naman,” lahad ni Heart.
RICHARD-HEART VS. RICHARD-KC. More than that, mas nangingibabaw raw sa young actress ang feeling of excitement sa mga projects na naka-line up niyang gagawin sa GMA-7. Una na nga rito ay ang Asero na pagtatambalan nila ni Richard Gutierrez. Aalis silang dalawa at ang staff and crew ng Asero sa May 7 papuntang Dubai para mag-taping doon for 10 days.
Ilang araw lang pagkatapos i-announce ang pagtatambal nila nina Heart at Richard sa Asero, lumabas naman ang announcement tungkol sa pagtatambal din sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon nina Richard at KC Concepcion sa pelikula. May mga nag-aalala na baka ma-preempt or ma-outshine ng team-up nina KC at Richard ang nagsisimula pa lang lutuin na team-up naman ng young actor kay Heart. Anong tingin ni Heart dito?
“Well, if they will make a movie together, I think that’s just fine,” saad niya. “And I think, they’ve known each other a little bit longer. So you know, I have nothing against anything.
“Hindi naman ako… I mean, wala namang nangyayari sa amin ni Richard. We don’t really work together and we ‘re just about to get to know each other. And you know, if there’s something between them… I’m against third party,” nakangiting pahayag ni Heart.
BREAKUP WITH JERICHO. Sa isyung breakup nila ng young actor na si Jericho Rosales, kaswal nitong sinabing she’s okay. Hindi rin daw totoong matagal na silang break at ngayon lang talaga umamin. Recently lang daw talaga nangyari ang breakup.
Binigyang-diin din ni Heart na walang katotohanan ang naglalabasang balita na kaya sila nag-break ni Echo ay dahil sa pagbabalik-loob ng young actress sa kanyang mga magulang, na hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa rin daw tanggap ang relasyon niya sa young actor.
“No! Never! I want that clear. I already made him paglaban till the very end. Well, my parents and I, we’re okay. They know na wala na silang magagawa and hindi sila mananalo sa battle na yun. So no, it wasn’t about that,” mariin niyang pahayag.
Nang tanungin naman namin kung may third party involved sa breakup nila ni Jericho, “no comment” ang naging tugon ni Heart rito. Pero halata sa pagbitaw niya ng salita at facial expression niya na posibleng may nakatago sa likod ng “no comment” niyang sagot.
Halos hindi rin makaapuhap ng tamang salita si Heart when PEP asked her kung pagkatapos ng ilang taong pakikipaglaban nila ni Echo sa kanilang pagmamahalan ay tama lang na ang paghihiwalay nila ang solusyon.
“I’m just you know…at…well, I have no comment talaga… Really, at this moment, I’m not ready to say anything,” paputol-putol na sagot ni Heart.
Is she still in the process of healing or is she already moving on?
“Of course, now, you go through hurt,” sagot ni Heart. “But you know, I have a fresh start here and I’m very busy with work. So I’m sure everything will be okay.”
Although para ngang nagsisimulang muli si Heart na maging visible sa showbiz, hindi raw siya agree na dapat na maging kapalit ng pagkawala ng lovelife ay ang trabaho. Talagang nagkataon lang daw sa part niya.
“Hindi naman ganoon yun. Hindi naman dapat. Just because your career is good and then your lovelife is bad… You know, I always believe that doing good in your career and being in love ay pupuwedeng pagsabayin,” paliwanag niya.
Ano naman ang mga natutunan niyang leksiyon sa tatlong taong relationship niya kay Jericho na tila naging you-and-me-against-the-world pa ang drama nila?
“That change is the only constant thing in the world. So you just have to live life a day at a time,” sambit niya.
May chance pa ba na magkabalikan sina ni Jericho in the future, lalo na kapag dumating ang young actor from Malaysia?
“I don’t know…I don’t know… I really have no comment to that. Really, no comment,” sagot niya.

Sa ginanap na story conference para sa bagong action-drama series ng GMA-7 na Codename: Asero kahapon, May 1, inamin na sa wakas ng young actress na si Heart Evangelista na break na talaga sila ng boyfriend niyang si Jericho Rosales.
Matagal na kasing usap-usapan na break na o cool-off na sina Heart at Jericho, pero noong una ay itinatanggi pa ito ng young actress. Sa panayam nga sa kanya ni Nora Calderon ng PEP (Philippine Entertainment Portal) during her contract signing sa GMA Network last April 23, sinabi niya, “No, it’s not true, kami pa rin ni Echo. Ako pa nga naghatid sa kanya sa airport when he left for Malaysia. Yun, hiwalay talaga kami kasi nasa Malaysia si Echo at nandito naman ako sa Pilipinas.”
Pero biglang nag-iba ng tono si Heart sa panayam sa kanya ni Raymond Gutierrez sa Showbiz Central last Sunday, April 27. Nang tanungin siya ni Raymond tungkol sa estado ng relasyon nila ni Jericho, ito na ang sagot niya:
“You know, si Jericho nasa Malaysia, I’m here in the Philippines, busy din ako. I’m going to do a soap with Richard [Gutierrez]. Right now, we’re just doing our own thing. Yung career namin, inaasikaso namin. Kung magkita kami, magkikita kami. Pero I think matagal pa siya doon… More than two months yata siyang nandoon. Pagbalik niya, busy din siya, busy din ako. So, aayusin na lang namin, bahala na… Kung magkita kami, magkita kami. Kung hindi, then we’ll just miss each other. But it’s career first now.”
Kahapon, sa panayam sa kanya ni Aubrey Carampel ng GMA News, inamin na nga nang tuluyan ni Heart na wala na sila ni Jericho.
Bagama’t tumanggi siyang magbigay ng detalye tungkol sa kanilang breakup, sinabi ng young actress, “There’s a lot of things that we didn’t get along with, a lot of things so…”
WORKING WITH RICHARD. Sa ngayon ay naka-focus sa kanyang career si Heart pagkatapos niyang pumirma ng two-year exclusive contract sa GMA-7. Ang una nga niyang proyekto ay ang Codename: Asero kung saan makakatambal niya for the first time si Richard Gutierrez.
“Wala na akong ibang masabi kundi excited na ako talaga, e. So it’s my first time to work with him and from the looks of it, mukhang okey naman siya,” saad ni Heart sa panayam sa kanya ng GMA News.
Bago sila magsimula ng taping next week ay magkakaroon muna ng bonding time sina Heart at Richard para makilala nila nang husto ang isa’t isa.
“Magkikita kami sa Batangas this Saturday [May 3]. There is a small event there. So we’ll get to know each other before work,” sabi ni Heart.
Sa susunod naman na linggo ay pupunta sila ng Dubai para sa ilang eksenang kukunan para sa Asero.
Ngayong parehong single and available sina Heart at Richard, malaki ang posibilidad na mahulog ang loob nila sa isa’t isa, lalo pa’t matagal silang magkakasama. Ano ang masasabi nila rito?
“I just wanna have fun, have a good time,” nakangiting sagot ni Heart.
Sagot naman ni Richard, siya raw ang bahala kay Heart at nasa mabuting kamay raw ang dalaga.
“We’ll make sure na sa set, masaya siya. Ang importante, makakalimutan niya lahat ng problema niya pagdating sa trabaho. Mag-e-enjoy kami, we’ll be working hard,” sabi ng young actor.
